In the realm of South African theater and social innovation, one name shines brightly: Dr. Mandisi Sindo, affectionately known as Dr. Disi. With a multifaceted portfolio spanning from founding the Khayelitsha Art School and Rehabilitation Centre (KASIRC) to his impactful role as a mentor, practitioner, and advocate for marginalized communities, Dr. Disi epitomizes the essence of creativity, resilience, and social responsibility. Dr. Mandisi Sindo’s odyssey in the world of theater commenced at the tender age of 11, igniting a flame that would guide his life’s purpose and passion for the arts. Over the years, he has honed his craft as an actor, director, dramaturge, and voice-over artist, gracing stages both nationally and internationally. His diverse repertoire includes acclaimed performances in productions such as Mike Van Graan’s “Return of the Ancestors,” Pfarelo Nemakonde’s “Chomi,” and “Macbeki” by Pieter Dick Uys, among others.
