Business and Arts South Africa NPC (BASA) has officially opened nominations to fill three vacancies on its Board of Directors — a move that signals an exciting new chapter in the organization’s ongoing commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive, and impactful creative economy.
For over two decades, BASA has stood as a beacon of innovation at the intersection of business and the arts. Since its establishment in 1997 through a unique partnership between the public and private sectors, BASA has led the charge in fostering strategic collaborations that unlock creative and economic opportunities across South Africa.
Now, as BASA evolves in both purpose and reach, it is calling on visionary leaders who are ready to help steer this pioneering organisation into its next phase of growth. - Financial oversight
- Strategic partnerships
While operational roles are not expected, Board Directors play a strategic leadership role, bringing diverse skills, networks, and perspectives that will help BASA continue to drive innovation and sustainability in the sector.

- Director of a listed or unlisted company
- Executive in a public sector body or statutory institution

- New Business Initiatives
Appointments are for a three-year term, on a voluntary and unpaid basis. The BASA Governance Committee will review nominations carefully to ensure a dynamic, skilled, and effective Board that reflects the organisation’s goals for transformation, innovation, and inclusivity.
