Reuniting after a decade apart is a complex mix of emotions, as each of us experiences it differently. But one thing is certain – we thrive when we’re together. Now, we’re not just creating new memories, but celebrating the ones we’ve already made. The energy is different, but the love and gratitude remain strong. We’re thankful to Home with Jazz for bringing us together as part of the Youth Month celebrations. It was a reunion not just for the EvO Lokxion All-Stars, but for the entire community. We’re thrilled to be back together, honoring our past while embracing the present.
Music plays a vital role in empowering and inspiring the youth, serving as a reflection of their era and experiences. To us, true empowerment comes from dedication and hard work towards one’s craft, not just grand gestures. These gatherings are a celebration of the progress made and a showcase of individual efforts. While we acknowledge the significance of Youth Month, we believe that true impact lies in consistent action and personal growth. Nevertheless, we cherish the opportunity to come together and celebrate the journey, evolution, and spirit of our musical endeavors.
As for memorable moments, we have many highlights from past Youth Month celebrations that resonate with the spirit of this event. One notable moment was when we brought together all acts for our reunion block party in 2015, featuring a variety of young musicians from different backgrounds and genres, creating a beautiful fusion of talent and energy. Such moments remind us of the power of music to unite and inspire the youth.
Our music has evolved significantly over the years, maturing and refining our unique sound. Whenever we come together, fans can expect a fresh and exciting vibe, blending our signature style with new elements and energy. While we treasure all our past experiences, some hold a special place in our hearts, like our iconic remix of Madala Kunene’s ‘Ubhombo’, which has become an anthem and was part of our early journey. Our collaborations with talented artists showcase the beauty of unity and creative exchange. At our core, our artistry and experience drive us to honor the principle of ‘umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu’ – humanity towards others – through our music and performances.
HOME WITH JAZZ offers us a unique and vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complements the EvO All-Stars Sessions. The venue’s energy enhances the overall experience, creating an intimate and immersive setting for both the DJs and the audience. We hope that the audience takes away not only unforgettable musical moments but also a sense of community and connection with like-minded individuals. The goal is to foster a sense of belonging among creatives, music lovers, and fans, with Home with Jazz serving as a welcoming hub for artistic expression and collaboration. May this partnership continue to thrive, nurturing the spirit of unity and creative exchange.
As we close this chapter on our reunion event, we’re already looking to the future. This summer, we’ll be hosting the Evo Lokxion Sundaze Re-Union Party, featuring live performances and more. Our legacy is a testament to the transformative power of collaboration, creativity, and community. We hope to inspire future generations to embrace their artistry, come together, and create something truly special – something greater than the sum of its parts.
Being part of EvO Lokxion All-Stars is a profound honor for me. This collective represents a shared passion, creative vision, and unconditional support. As individuals, we bring unique perspectives, but together, we form a united front, driven by a common goal – to create an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.
Looking back, one of our biggest challenges was pursuing our passion without financial backing. However, we chose to focus on the bigger picture, our mission to create something special, rather than letting financial constraints hold us back. Through dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to our art, we overcame obstacles and achieved success. To our incredible fans, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support since 2005.
