South Africa’s young voices, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) wants to hear you roar! This year marks a magnificent milestone: 30 years of democracy! To commemorate this incredible journey, NYDA is launching “Voices of Freedom,” a competition designed to empower YOU. Unleash your creativity and share your reflections on freedom, the rich tapestry of our heritage, and what democracy means to you. Will you paint a picture with words in a captivating poem? Or weave a powerful essay that explores the true meaning of liberty?
The choice is yours! Here’s how you can join NYDA in the celebration:
Channel your inner poet: Craft an original poem (up to 40 lines) that captures the essence of freedom, unity, the vibrant diversity of South Africa, and the echoes of our heritage. Let your words dance and sing!
Become an essayist extraordinaire: Dive deep in a 500-800 word essay, reflecting on the significance of freedom and the legacy of our forefathers in shaping the South Africa we know today.
The glory awaits!
See your name in print! The winning entries will be published in the prestigious Mail & Guardian, a platform for your voice to be heard!
Tech up your life! Each winner will walk away with a brand new iPad to fuel your creativity even further.
