Visibility remains one of the biggest challenges facing organisations, institutions and practitioners working in the creative, cultural, humanities and sport sectors. Powerful work is happening every day across the country, yet many events struggle to reach the audiences they deserve. This is where the South African Cultural Observatory (SACO) steps in.
SACO continues to play a vital role in strengthening South Africa’s cultural ecosystem by supporting the promotion of approved events through its Events Section on its official website. This platform makes it easier for broader audiences, researchers, creatives, policymakers and the public to discover what is happening across the sector—locally and nationally.
By sharing events through SACO, organisers gain increased visibility, credibility and access to audiences who are actively interested in arts, culture, heritage, humanities and sport. Whether it’s a festival, exhibition, conference, performance, workshop or sporting initiative, SACO helps ensure these moments do not go unnoticed.

Through collaboration, shared knowledge and visibility, the sector grows stronger. SACO’s open call to event organisers is an invitation to work together in making South Africa’s creative, cultural and sporting landscape more accessible, connected and visible.
If you have an upcoming event, this is your opportunity to amplify it—because the stories, experiences and platforms you create matter.
