Empowering South Africa’s Next Generation of Digital Storytellers

The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT), in collaboration with the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA) and global technology leader Google, is proud to announce the launch of the #NextGenCreatorsSA Audio-Visual Content Program — a dynamic initiative set to shape the future of South Africa’s content creation industry. As the demand for authentic, engaging, and diverse digital content continues to grow both locally and globally, this pilot program has been designed to equip aspiring filmmakers, content creators, and visual storytellers with the skills, insights, and connections necessary to thrive in today’s fast-evolving digital economy.

About the Program

The Audio-Visual Content Program is a four-day virtual workshop that will convene 100 emerging creators from across South Africa, offering participants a rare opportunity to gain first-hand industry knowledge and practical tools from leading experts.
Taking place from 12 to 15 May 2025, the program will cover essential topics including:
– Content Production Best Practices
– Building and Managing Brand Partnerships
– Effective Strategies for Distributing Long- and Short-Form Content
This initiative is more than a skills workshop — it is a platform for young creatives to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the growth of South Africa’s vibrant digital content ecosystem.

Who Should Apply?

The program is open to all South African content creators, aspiring filmmakers, vloggers, podcasters, and digital media enthusiasts who are eager to advance their craft and explore new career pathways within the audio-visual sector.
