Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is a celebration of innovation, creativity, and the indomitable spirit of entrepreneurship. This year, GEW South Africa took a special focus on the kasi economy, recognizing the immense potential and resilience of township businesses. Under the theme “Breaking Barriers for SMMEs,” GEW South Africa hosted two power-packed events in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni. These events brought together aspiring and established entrepreneurs, business experts, and government officials to explore strategies for strengthening the township economy and empowering SMMEs (small, medium, and micro-enterprises). The events featured a line-up of inspiring keynote speakers from Technoserve, Zevoli Growth Partners, and Ande, sharing their insights on market access, business growth, and access to finance. A Masterclass on Market Access provided valuable insights into the practical steps entrepreneurs can take to expand their reach and connect with new customers.
